Perform a Batch Query

You may create a new list of social security numbers to be checked by following steps 1-7 below.  To add numbers to an existing list, follow steps 5-7.

You may edit the parameters (such as the notification email) of an existing list by clicking the Edit link beside the name of the list. You may also delete an entire list by clicking the delete link beside it.

 

  1. Create a new list of social security numbers by creating a name for the list and entering it in the List Name box.
  2. For Automated Batch Query Users Only: Indicate whether this list should be checked weekly or monthly. If you choose weekly, then select which day of the week you'd like the check performed. If you choose monthly, select the date. 
  3. Enter the email address where you would like the results sent when the check is complete.
  4. Click the Save button.
  5. To add social security numbers to a list or to view the numbers already on it, click the name of the list in the main Perform a Batch Query screen.  A new screen will be displayed showing detailed information about the list, such as when it will be checked, when the last check was performed, and which social security numbers are already on it.
  6. Click the Upload Social Security Numbers link to upload a file containing social security numbers. It must be a text file with one record on each line.
  7. Click the Browse button to find the file on your computer, and then click Upload. If you would like to remove the numbers currently stored in the list and replace them with the new numbers, check the box beside "delete existing numbers."  Leaving this box unchecked will preserve the current numbers and simply add the uploaded numbers to the list.

You may view a log of previous checks by clicking the "Click here to view a log of previous verifications." link. 

Manual Batch Users should click the "Click here to check this list right now" link to run their verification. Automated Batch Query Users may click this link at any time to run a check immediately, regardless of when their next automated check is scheduled for.

You may add records one at a time by entering information into the boxes and clicking Add.

To remove an individual record from the list, click the Delete link beside it.

To edit the information in one of the records, click the Edit link beside it.

You may add a note to any record by clicking the name and entering your text into the popup window.
