The Death Master File Limited Inquiry Product is for use by individuals or companies that need 1 -100 queries of the Social Security Administration’s Death Master File (DMF). Access expires after the specified number of queries is used or within one year, whichever occurs first. Limited Inquiry Products are available for 1, 5, 25, 50, or 100 queries and are recommended for use by individuals or small companies that need to check no more than 100 numbers per year. For example, individuals doing genealogy research may verify the date or place of death of a member of their family. Limited Inquiry Products are not recommended for use by companies or agencies that need to verify a large number or that need to use the search service regularly.
